“Achievement of zeptomole concentration by quantitative live single-cell mass spectrometry”
Samy Emara is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry and the Dean at Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University, Egypt.
Emara studied Liquid Chromatographic Techniques for his Ph.D. in professor Masujima’s Laboratory (Hiroshima University, Japan) (1991). Following a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (Japan, Hiroshima), Emara joined Professor Masujima’s Laboratory and was working on Capillary Electrophoresis (1996). Emara participated in the development, research and manufacture of immediate and controlled/sustained release pharmaceutical products (College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati, USA) (1999).
Emara joined professor Masujima’s Laboratory and was working on Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (Hiroshima University, Japan) (2002). Emara has been invited as a visiting scientist in Riken (Osaka, Japan) to join professor Masujima’s Laboratory in cooperative activities for Single Cell Mass Spectrometry and Live Single Cell Lipidomics and Metabolomics (2015).
Emara’s research interests lay in the area of Direct Injection Innovative Protocols for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in bio-fluids using Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Capillary Electrophoresis, Flow Injection Analysis and Hyphenated Techniques. Green Analytical Techniques for Quality Control and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring are also of his interest.
